Abstract

The article analyzes the concepts of «sect», «destructive cult», «totalitarian sect», which are used in the classification of new religious movements and the movement of various kinds. On the basis of any religious doctrine may appear innovative thinking and it can be characterized (estimate) as the increased spread the word sectarian or fundamentalist attitudes leads to sectarian sentiments among the believers. The author concludes that the emergence of new religious movements are the result of the development process, which is typical for a while the continuation of «sectarian tendencies».
