This article examines the mechanisms supporting interfaith dialogue in the modern world and the international legal regulation of religious organizations. It analyzes various forms of interfaith dialogue, its theological and social aspects, and the role of international law, including declarations and conventions adopted by the United Nations (UN) and the Council of Europe. The authors explore the legal mechanisms regulating relations between the state and religious organizations, highlighting their importance in ensuring peace and harmony. A comparative assessment of legal regulation within states is provided, with examples from Western countries, as well as an analysis of Kazakhstan’s experience in interfaith dialogue. The study aims to evaluate legal tools that ensure a balance between freedom of conscience and public order. It also reviews religious laws enshrined in UN declarations. The article discusses the international legal regulation of religious organizations and the impact of international law on interfaith dialogue. The significance of legal regulation of religious organizations in different countries is emphasized, along with their substantial role in fostering religious tolerance. The article lists and analyzes the provisions related to religion in international declarations. Additionally, various interfaith and intercultural initiatives and events organized to strengthen interfaith dialogue are presented and discussed.
